The first edition of Tour de France Femmes was a major hit, but the same cannot be said for team FDJ Suez Futuroscope.
In the first stage, they could not secure any podium position, but Vittoria Guazzini managed to secure the 10th position. In the second stage, the team suffered a massive loss with Marta Cavalli involved in the crash, which put a damp on their GC hopes.
Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig won stage three of the tour and dedicated the victory to Cavalli, hospitalized after the crash. The team regained their hope again, and Évita Muzic went to secure silver in the fourth stage. The following two stages were rather unfruitful for the team, but Ludwig continued her dream with a bronze in the seventh stage. There was tension in the air before the final stage as Annemiek Van Vleuten had a 3-minute lead. Ludwig tried her best but finished in the 8th position. She secured the 7th position in GC.
