Egan Bernal has shared yesterday on social media a video of himself riding his Pinarello bike whilst standing. This comes, as he points out, as the first time he's done so since the accident on the 24th of January.
It comes then as another step in the right direction, for the Colombian who has had an almost certain chance of either dying or become tetraplegic just over three months ago. Bernal has in the meantime undergone extensive healing, up to the point where it is rumoured and expected that he will at some point return to the peloton this year.
He returned to Europe very recently, and is currently training around the team's base in Monaco, in the Alpes Maritimes - where he is back training with teammates, and receiving the necessary medical support from the team's staff on site.
