The Col de la Loze was by far the most chaotic ascent of this Tour de France. The enthusiastic crowds and extensive race convoy, alongside the insane gradients saw the road block close to the summit. First-person footage of Jonas Vingegaard having to squeeze past an organization car reveals the intensity of the incident.
Thomas Voeckler himself was part of a motorbike which failed in a steep section of the climb. In another motorbike, Christian VandeVelde was on the broadcast for NBC Sports and had live footage of the whole incident in which Jonas Vingegaard had to put a foot down and was blocked behind a race car, the footage is recorded right from a motorbike that was next to the car.
