Whilst a massive attack just under 60km out looks like giving Mathieu van der Poel his second straight Paris-Roubaix victory, the Dutchman is seemingly once again having to put up with crowd trouble.
In recent weeks and months the dual discipline world champion has already suffered heavy abuse from the crowd during a UCI World Cup cyclocross race, reacting with a spit into the crowd and just last week at the Tour of Flanders, van der Poel was again the target of some rowdy 'supporters' throwing drinks and shouting abuse at the Alpecin-Deceuninck leader.
