Caja Rural - Seguros RGA have had a very successful week in Croatia. After taking two stage wins, Orluis Aular secured overall race victory despite a dramatic crash in the final 200m on the last stage in Zagreb.
With the time bonuses on offer at the finale potentially decisive, Aular knew he had to finish highly placed but as the stress levels were raising the Venezuelan national champion hit the deck hard in spectacular style. Alexander Kristoff could have pinched the overall race victory with a stage win but could only finish second behind Campbell Stewart, much to the joy of Caja Rural.
