The Coll de Rates, a well-known training climb for the likes of Tom Pidcock and Mathieu van der Poel among others is aflame in some worrying scenes.

In the Spanish village of Tàrbena, the mythical climb where 'the next Jonas Vingegaard', Peter Oxenberg Hansen recently broke the climbing record, has been seen smoking ever since a fire broke out on Saturday afternoon. According to Het Nieuwsblad, the source of the incident was a careless farmer who lost control of the fire.

According to the Spanish outlet El País, two people were arrested for questioning, but have since been released without charge. There is also a warning for any cyclists still brave enough to go for a ride on the climb from emergency services. "They not only hinder the work of the fire engines, but also endanger their own lives."
