GC update Tour de France 2025 stage 17 - Pogacar saves yellow on rainy day before Alps showdown

Tadej Pogacar is going into the Alps with the yellow jersey. The Slovenian held it upright in the tense and crash-affected finale of stage 17 at the Tour de France, and has maintained the 4:15-minute lead over Jonas Vingegaard that will be the deciding factor this week in the biggest race in the world.

The day was flat and an opportunity for the GC riders to take it slower, but by no means was it a relaxed day in the bunch. With INEOS Grenadiers trying to explode the peloton early in the day and later on a lot of wet roundabouts leading to a big positioning fight, it was a day to save for the GC men.

Florian Lipowitz and Oscar Onley maintain their third and fourth positions, fighting for what is the final spot on the podium and just as importantly the white jersey, which is being held by the Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe rider by 2:01 minutes.

The Top10 is completed by Primoz Roglic, Kévin Vauquelin, Felix Gall, Tobias Johannessen, Ben Healy and Carlos Rodríguez. All the GC riders remained unaffected on the final crash, although the INEOS Grenadiers leader did fall earlier in the day.
