World Championships protest neutralization leads to interesting footage of riders resting and interacting with fans

Still early in the race at the World Championships a protest has stopped the race. Protesters glued themselves onto the road and it makes it impossible for vehicles to pass, leading to a very long and difficult neutralization, and in their downtime riders take their time to rest however possible.

One of the most unusual scenarios in pro cycling. Protests have over the past few years become a small part of the sport, however having one in this race and having such effect will inevitably become one of the - negative - highlights of the day. A few riders have sat and layed down on the road and team cars whilst fans took the opportunity to take pictures with some of the riders who have no option but to wait.
