The rumour comes from an on-sight report from the Tour Alsace where Alexis Guerin is currently racing, which if it is to happen, would be a surprising move that would see him race at World Tour level for the first time.
Although being a possibility only supported by Guerin's 30 years of age, his recent performances for Team Voralberg have has a lot of attention pointed towards his way, and he may replace compatriot Alexys Brunel who represented the UAE Team but retired from pro cycling recently.

Last year Guerin won the Oberösterreichrundfahrt alongside a stage win. He's also taken wins at the Sibiu Tour and Le Tour de Savoie Mont Blanc, aswell as the KOM classification at the Tour Alsace. The common denominator in all these performances are his performances in the high mountains, which largely outweigh the majority of the continental field.
His 2022 season has not been as outstanding, however he's featured a few times in the podiums, and finished second at the Oberösterreich Rundfahrt - one of the team's home races.
