Trentin gets his vengeance at Giro del Veneto: "Last year, I was a bit angry afterwards, now, of course, I'm really happy"

Matteo Trentin won the Giro del Veneto.The Italian rider took the lead in the final kilometres along with a few other riders and maintained the lead till the end. It is his third victory of the season.

"We rode really well today," Trentin told SpazioCiclismo. He continues, "I got into the big breakaway with Diego Diego did a great job. Not only on the flat sections but also uphill. Two of our team leaders are also from the area and knew the roads very well, so they were able to guide me well. That also helped."

In the last edition, he narrowly lost to Xandro Meurisse and finished second, but this time he did not allow anyone to come close to him. "Last year, I was a bit angry afterwards, now, of course, I'm really happy. Hopefully, we can still finish the season as good as possible," concluded Trentin.
