Matteo Trentin victorious in Giro del Veneto

Matteo Trentin has won the Giro del Veneto. He took the lead in the final kilometres and maintained it till the finish line and secured the victory.

The breakaway included Andrea Pietrobon, Matteo Vercher and Matteo Zurlo. The trio gained a lead of over 4 minutes in starting kilometres. Vine, Conci, Lopez, Formolo, Ulissi, Kron, Rochas, De Marchi, Balmer, Tonelli, Tesfatsion, and D. Bais followed the trio and separated themselves from the peloton, creating another group.

The peloton soon caught up with the breakaway. In the final kilometres Matteo Trentin, Rémy Rochas, and Mattéo Vercher attacked and created a gap. It was Trentin who crossed the finish line first, while Rémy Rochas finished second. Mattéo Vercher took the bronze.
