Trek-Segafredo and Antonio Tiberi mutually part ways after cat-killing scandal

It's official, Trek - Segafredo and Antonio Tiberi have mutually agreed to part ways after the 21-year-old Italian was convicted for killing a cat in San Marino.

"Trek-Segafredo and Antonio Tiberi have mutually agreed to part ways, effective immediately," an official announcement on the team's Twitter account reads. "After the rider’s actions during his suspension did not meet our criteria for a return to competition."

Although this new had been rumoured for some time, the official announcement means that the young Italian prospect is now able to search for a new team with Bahrain - Victorious the most recent team to reportedly be considering a move for Tiberi.

"No further comments will be given at this time," the official announcement concludes.
