Stage 4 of the 2024 Tour de Pologne has gone to Team Visma | Lease a Bike's Olav Kooij after a powerful bunch sprint finale in Prudnik.
With a number of Polish riders going out on the attack early, the likes of Szymon Sajnok, Michal Paluta, Norbert Banaszek and Kacper Gieryk all spent time out ahead of the peloton. Heading into the final 50 kilometres however, Gieryk was the only one remaining up front, albeit only with around 20 seconds advantage.
At 40km to go, Gieryk's long spell out in front of the race was finally brought to an end. After a quiet few kilometres there was an increase in the tension levels with a couple of crashes around 20 kilometres to go, but heading into the finale, things were still all together at the front of the race.
In a frantic fight for the finish line, Team Visma | Lease a Bike's Olav Kooij was the man to power to the victory, taking sprint win ahead of Sam Bennett and Mads Pedersen.
