The team's '8' has a side focused on the mountains including
Steff Cras, who abandoned the race last year due to crash whilst fighting for the Top10. The Belgian then was 11th at Vuelta a España, but this year suffered another brutal crash. Together with Jonas Vingegaard and others, he crashed at Itzulia Basque Country, suffering a punctured lung, fractured ribs and vertebrae. Miraculously, he already returned to competition at the Tour of Slovenia.
"The first half minute I couldn't breathe and I thought I was suffocating,"
Cras said of his crash only two and a half months ago, upon returning in Slovenia. "I thought it was ove"But physically I continued to work hard after that crash. I pushed my body hard to get back to normal as quickly as possible." Overall classification could be the Belgian's goal.
Jordan Jegat, one of the team's most promising riders, is also expected to perform in the mountains. The likes of
Fabien Grellier,
Thomas Gachignard and
Mattéo Vercher will likely focus on the breakaways throughout the many and long flat and hilly days so as to provide sponsor exposure.
On some hilly days we may see the likes of
Mathieu Burgaudeau,
Anthony Turgis and
Sandy Dujardin also chasing a result.
