The Tour de France has underwent 9 stages so far and the first week has ended. We have seen fantastic stages in the mountains, hills, gravel, time-trial and in the sprints and after all this racing it is Intermarché - Wanty who has surprisingly brought in the most prize money, after Biniam Girmay's splendid opening half of the race.
Girmay has won two stages and has been carrying the green jersey for several days already. The Eritrean has brought in over €34.000 in prize whilst the team's total is at €43.880. Girmay's sum is almost enough to top second place UAE Team Emirates who understandably have racked up a big sum out of Tadej Pogacar's results in the race and carrying the yellow jersey. Uno-X Mobility is in third place with €25.160 as Jonas Abrhamsen has brought in a lot of exposure with the KOM jersey, but has also worn the green jersey and has had combativity awards to his name.
All-in-all things are very tight in the first places as Team DSM-Firmenich PostNL, Movistar Team and Soudal - Quick-Step are all currently very close to the Top3. Team Visma | Lease a Bike is only in 17th position with €8300 whilst the team that has brought in the least prize after the first week is Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale who are having a difficult Tour, unlike the rest of their season.
