TotalEnergies have recently
renewed with Anthony Turgis, and the team's other hope in the cobbled classics
Dries van Gestel has also been re-signed with the team into the 2023 season.
In a two-year contract, van Gestel will be one of the team's options mainly for it's wide classics schedule. He has impressed in his early years at Sport Vlaanderen and has been signed by the French team in 2020. Since, he's won the Profronde van Drenthe this year, aswell as a third spot at Gent-Wevelgem which highlighted the team's cobbled classics campaign.
“I am very happy to continue the adventure with the Team. It is a proof of confidence on the part of the team and it makes me extremely happy. I will continue to honor this beautiful jersey with pride," van Gestel said in a press release.
“My goals will remain the same for the next two seasons with the Flandres Classics. I want to continue my progress in these races and get the best possible results," he concluded. The 27-year old is scheduled to race the Tour of Leuven and Eurométropole Tour before the European championships next week.
