UAE Team Emirates have put effort into securing their future in the early days of this season's transfer market, as they announced the renewal of four riders at once with a focus in the classics and in protection of their leaders in the flat terrain.
All of them have signed a new one-year deal, however one that bolsters the team's ambitions in the classics. Matteo Trentin is the most important figure, having been a crucial part of Tadej Pogacar's stint at the classics, and also in the stage-races where it is necessary to protect him in the dangerous and treacherous days.
Vegard Stake Laengen was another one of the riders, an important support role for Pogacar in both his Tour de France wins. And the last two were the Oliveira twins who have also seen their contract renewed for 2023 in the World Tour level, specially with the arrival and growth of João Almeida within the team.
The Portuguese riders are very similar, having roles within the team's classics squads aswell as in assistance of the sprinters within the team. UAE have not yet confirmed any signing, however they have already 17 riders under contract for the coming year.
