"They put me in a really good position for the final" - Paul Magnier praises superstar teammates Remco Evenepoel and Julian Alaphilippe after another Tour of Britain stage

Taking his second stage win at the 2024 Tour of Britain, Paul Magnier was again aided in his quest for victory by a superstar leadout from Soudal - Quick-Step teammates Remco Evenepoel and Julian Alaphilippe.

"I'm super happy again to take the victory," the 20-year-old French sprinter said delightedly in his post-stage interview afterwards, full of praise for his Soudal - Quick-Step teammates. "It was again a super day with the team. First we controlled the race to be sure it finished with a bunch sprint, and then they put me in a really good position for the final."

In the finale, Magnier was involved in a fierce battle with Israel - Premier Tech's Ethan Vernon, but it was the French youngster who proved strongest in the end, taking a clear victory ahead of the Brit by the time the line was reached.

"It was really fast with the tailwind, and in the end I still had the punch to finish off the work of the whole team. I'm really happy to take the victory here," Magnier assesses of the sprint. "I will try to do it again. First I will recover a bit, because I'm really tired,"
