The third stage of 4 Jours de Dunkerque once again provided an opportunity for the fast men of the 2.Pro race peloton. And it was once Sam Bennett who seized the opportunity, supported by great job of his Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale teammates. The back-to-back victory further increases Irishman's lead in the GC of the French race as well.
"They're fantastic. The thing with sprinting is that it often doesn't go to plan," said the Irishman after the stage. "We had a different plan this time, but the guys showed again that we are a mature and experienced team. This way we have been able to adapt well to the new circumstances."
"They were able to make quick decisions when things weren't going well," Bennett continued about the excellent performance of his teammates. "And that's what it's all about. Hopefully we can continue this flow."
Finally, Bennett is also asked about his future ambitions. "I want to return to the Tour de France and show that I can handle it. That's why I'm here. People on the internet can say whatever they want. I believe I can come back. If I no longer believed in it, I would have been better off quitting."
