Reigning time trial champion Primoz Roglic doesn't rule start at the Olympic Games in Paris

Slovenia, albeit small in size, currently belongs among the strongest cycling nations in the world. And so it's no surprise that they were able to secure the maximum possible of available Olympic Games slots. The four riders set to represent in Paris are yet to be decided, however the list with likely options is very short.

Ideally, the Slovenian coach would like to bring Tadej Pogacar, Primoz Roglic, Matej Mohoric and Jan Tratnik. However whether all the riders will agree to participate remains to be seen as all of them have really busy schedules - Tratnik and Pogacar are already competing at their second Grand Tour of 2024, for example.

Lots of hopes are on the current time trial Olympic champion Roglic. After his departure from Visma | Lease a Bike last winter, many things still need to click, however the 34-year-old hasn't ruled out start in Paris just yet, according to Slovenian journalists.

Determining factor about the Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe leader's participation (in just the road race) will be apparently how the legs will feel at the end of Tour de France. As we enter the second week of the Grande Boucle, Roglic is currently 4th overall, 21 seconds behind ex-teammate Jonas Vingegaard.
