2024 Tour de France stage 10 GC Update: Adam Yates, Egan Bernal and more climb up as Aleksandr Vlasov abandons race

Stage 10 of the Tour de France was not a very calm day with the threat of echelons floating over the peloton, but there were no CG differences or major attempts to split the race. It was a day for the sprinters, but the Tour is a three-week race and a few important riders have climbed up the overall classification due to the abandon of Aleksandr Vlasov.

The Russian climber suffered an ankle fracture and likely concussion in a crash suffered on stage 9, but nevertheless raced to the finish and finished within the peloton. However under medical supervision, he could not continue the race and abandoned on the rest day. This means at the start of stage 10, the 11th placed rider in the overall classification was out of the race and opened way for other riders to climb up the GC. Adam Yates and Egan Bernal followed right after; but the likes of Giulio Ciccone, Pello Bilbao, Felix Gall and Enric Mas also directly benefit from it.
