Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team will once again have an under-23 satellite team from 2023 onwards, an announcement that the Belgian team has worked together with the Elevate team.
After in the last decade the Belgian team was connected with Klein Constantia, it will once again have a development team. This will be called the Soudal - Quick-Step Devo Team, which will be formed by reshaping the current Elevate p/b Home Solution-Soenens team.
“...This is a fantastic opportunity for everyone involved to do something special and give an opportunity to identify the best young cycling talent around and give them a chance to grow into valuable members of our World Tour team," team manager Patrick Lefevere said.
Although several teams disband their under-23 projects due to the lack of security over securing a contract with their own riders, the rapid rise of the new generations has seen the Belgian team take a step back into the topic. "We had a fantastic experience previously with the Klein Constantia team, which brought through a wealth of talent, including the current World Champion Julian Alaphilippe, Rémi Cavagna, Florian Sénéchal, Enric Mas, Max Schachmann… the list goes on," Lefevere argued. "I would like and hope that we can build something similar again, and I am sure everyone will get behind and give their full support to this important new venture.”
