Promising Frenchman Axel Zingle pens a three-year deal at Visma | Lease a Bike

Axel Zingle has a badge of one of the most reliable UCI points scorers in the bunch, especially at the smaller one day races (1.Pro and 1.1), where's a consistent podium finisher. One can easily see why Cofidis is not happy to see one of their leaders leaving, but there was no way to match the offer of Visma | Lease a Bike, who this way make Cofidis one talented Frenchman lighter again, after the move of Christophe Laporte three years ago.

There is no doubt the 25-year-old Zingle is yet to show great things and there's no better team to unlock rider's full potential than with the Dutch formation.

"Axel is a great talent for the classics," says sports director Grischa Niermann in a press communication. "Moreover, he has a good sprint that particularly shines at the end of tough races. This has earned him numerous podium finishes. We believe he still has room to grow, and we are delighted that he dares to take on this adventure with us."

"For me, it is truly a dream to join Team Visma | Lease a Bike," Zingle adds. "In my opinion, this is the best cycling team in the world. It has always been my goal to join such a strong team to become better myself. I am very motivated to join the team next season and hope to contribute in the classics. I expect to learn a lot from the best riders in the world and the rest of the team to become the best version of myself."

Let's see what the future holds for Zingle who penned a three-year deal at Visma | Lease a Bike, where he'll try to follow in the footsteps of compatriot Laporte, who had become European champion in Visma colours, among other success.
