No Chris Froome at Tour de France, Israel - Premier Tech seek success with Michael Woods and Dylan Teuns

Israel - Premier Tech have revealed their lineup for the Tour de France and surprisingly it features a last-minute change, as Chris Froome as switched plans and will now not return to the race. Michael Woods and Dylan Teuns lead the mostly stage-win oriented lineup.

The route is very favourable to climbers and will not feature any meaningful time-trialing so the Canadian does have a shot to fight for the overall classification, specially after winning La Route d'Occitanie in his warm-up to the Tour. If he is to hunt stages, both he and Dylan Teuns have shown the form to be able to do that.

“We bring a strong team, ready to race aggressively, with the main goal of going for stage wins”, Rik Verbrugghe explained in a press release. “We all know that it’s hard to win a stage in the Tour, but I believe that each of our eight selected riders has what it takes to be victorious in this race. I would like to see the team race with the same attitude and eagerness as we did in the Giro d’Italia this year. If we can continue like this, racing opportunistically, I believe we will have a great race.”

This lineup is hence completed by six riders who stand their own chances of success, it includes Hugo Houle who has won a stage last year, Corbin Strong who will enjoy his chances in the hilly sprint days mostly and plenty puncheurs who can get along in the hilly days. Guillaume Boivin, Krists Neilands, Simon Clarke and Nick Schultz complete the lineup.
