Nairo Quintana returns to Europe: "I will not race the Vuelta a Colombia"

Nairo Quintana will not race the Vuelta a Colombia 2023. It was rumored that the Colombian rider was going to participate in his country's stage race with his national team, but he has finally decided to return to Europe to continue training with a view to signing for a WorldTour team.

"I've been working hard in Colombia, I'm already here in Europe training judiciously. I wanted to tell you that I will not race Vuelta a Colombia, I'm still here preparing myself waiting for what the future holds to continue to gladden the hearts of our followers," he said in a video shared. 

Thus, the Colombian competition will take place between June 16 and 25 and will not have Nairo among its participants (his only competition in 2023 was the Nationals road race on February 5). It will be with Miguel Ángel López, who, at the head of Team Medellín, will be the great favorite.
