Well, it might sound very arrogant or like a put down. I think his words are pretty accurate and a good assessment on the physique or form16:57

Great article! Really hoping he gets picked up by a euro team! Would be rad to see what happens to American interest in the sport if he does. Sadly most of American cycling is geared only toward rampage, crit, DH\XC and gravel. Would be cool to see road races at least make a comeback. I’m doubtful CX will for a while02-12-2025 02:30

My thought exactly. My initial thought was why don’t the race organizers/UCI rent space along the route. And as they don’t why not the teams hire private security? Or if the race organization doesn’t do it perhaps all the teams chip in for a collective secure site. But really individual teams providing their own security is not that hard to figure out. Even the dumbest criminals can coordinate and plan a theft from a such an easy vulnerable target due to lack of security.25-08-2025 19:17

While I’m not a fan of Simmons, he makes some good points here. But ultimately to be outspoken you you also need to be a great rider. I don’t think he’s quite there yet with the performance, but he wants to be there with the Sagan like persona. I think he needs to focus on the performance first and then when he’s a better rider, he can be a little bit more outspoken. I really don’t care about his politics, but I do like the fact that he is bringing attention to some interesting points.20-08-2025 04:14

For the UCI to disqualify pretty much the top teams means the viewership and sponsors will be less. Which is too bad since we need more interest and support for women’s cycling. Something in the terms and conditions must not sit well with the teams. Likely the responsibility of now making sure the black box is given priority as a protected device more so than ensuring the riders safety on the road with all the furniture15-08-2025 18:48

He won stage 5. That showed incredible form. Chapeaux to him on that! For him to abandon on 14 while in 3rd I feel is ridiculous. Had he kept racing maybe he would drop out of GC. i think his ego is still too big to lose that greatly. Had he stayed on the bike perhaps he would have seen his form improve and he would learn a lot about his body. So what if he drops down deep the list, he still could have ridden into Paris a success21-07-2025 07:33

Blythe is right. Sounds like Rog just doesn’t want to be at the tour and knows he can’t win so he’s a bit irritated by the question. While his feeling is understandable it’s perhaps a bit too honest as it’s also tempered with his own frustrations. I personally don’t think he’ll podium, but he could target some stages and perhaps win a stage which would be a great success for the team. I’m anxious with all the crashes so far, and the inevitable is he will crash out as usual.07-07-2025 07:30

IDT cared more about defending 2nd than defending 1st. The thought of coming in 3rd behind RC was a bigger loss to his ego than losing 1st to master Yates. IDT is a total dong.17-06-2025 08:54
