Movistar Team has unveiled its '8' for the
Tour de France 2024 that has had the final surprise of the inclusion of
Fernando Gaviria who was not in the initial bets. The Colombian sprinter performed well in the Giro and has been rewarded with a spot on the team for the Grande Boucle. The other place our
CiclismoAlDía colleagues already
confirmed yesterday would go to
Oier Lazkano, despite all the speculations surrounding his future transfer.
So, as was requested by the fans, Movistar on this occasion has not thrown all the cards to
Enric Mas and has a team that in theory will be able to score in stages with the brand new
Spanish champion Alex Aranburu as one of the spearheads.
Another very interesting man who could be looking for his own way and who could look for partial victories is
Javier Romo, without ruling out that
Gregor Mühlberger could also get into some stages. Two men should form the hard core for Enric Mas for the overall:
Nelson Oliveira on the flat and
Davide Formolo in the mountains.
We'll see how the Telephone team approaches the race, but after performing at a high level in the Giro racing for the overall standings with Einer Rubio and the stages with Pelayo Sánchez, Nairo Quintana and Gaviria, they should try to do the same in the Tour, CiclismoAlDía's Juan Larra thinks: "Freedom for the second row men and some support for Enric Mas to try to finish as high as possible in the overall."
Movistar team for Tour de France 2024:

Oier Lazkano
