Mark Donovan and Nikias Arndt leave Vuelta a Espana has DSM suffer from Covid-19 cases

Covid-19 has taken two more riders out of the Vuelta a Espana peloton this morning, as Team DSM's Mark Donovan and Nikias Arndt had a positive test result and had to abandon the race.

The team reported that both have minimal to no symptoms, and likely the double infection came from their room sharing. It is possible that more cases within the team will be found on the following days. The previous day AG2R Citroën Team lost Andrea Vendrame and Jaakko Hänninen in the same form.

Although DSM had little aspirations within the Vuelta, the absence of Donovan will be a hit for Thymen Arensman's GC stint, whilst Nikias Arndt had so far ridden a solid race with a sixth place in Bilbao which saw him rise to third place in the overal classification on the day.
