Covid-19 cases have taken out two more riders from the Vuelta a Espana, as AG2R Citroën Team have reported positive cases this morning in Andrea Vendrame and Jaakko Hänninen.
Vendrame was a contender for today's stage as the riders will be having a rough hilly day towards Cistierna. As for Hänninen the news came shortly after he crashed out of contention on stage five of the race. Both were to be of important support for Ben O'Connor who is fighting for the overall classification and currently sits in 15th position.

Although the number of Covid-19 cases has seemed to be relatively under control, the Vuelta has seen both Ángel Madrazo and Manuel Peñalver of Burgos-BH not take to the start because of it. In the last few days both Jan Hirt and Alex Kirsch have also been taken out of the race because of it.
