Mark Cavendish spotted riding Astana team's bike - Evidence piles on for shocking transfer

Mark Cavendish has been on the epicenter of a winter roller-coaster of emotions as his initial transfer to B&B Hotels-KTM has been cut. He's now rumoured to be joining Astana Qazaqstan Team, and has been recorded training in Spain with a bike from the Kazakh team.

In a video that has been circulating on social media, a casual cyclist in Spain had been recording his ride with a on-the-bike camera pointing back. To his surprise he ended up passing by the Manx Missile himself, and when the video is slowed down it is possible to observe that it is the British champion Mark Cavendish, riding a Willier bike in the colours of Astana.

Cavendish found himself in this situation following the collapse of B&B Hotels-KTM. Gazzetta dello Sport have reported yesterday that Cavendish' surprise transfer to the Kazakh team had been confirmed, and Cees Bol could be joining aswell after the French team ended.

Team manager Alexander Vinokourov has recently admitted in an interview to be keen of a transfer and that it was on the Manxman's side to pursue a transfer. This being likely his best shot of racing the Tour de France in 2023, it seems to be a virtual done deal.
