Lorrenzo Manzin has successfully gone under the knife, the Frenchman announced via social media. The
TotalEnergies rider suffered from iliac endofibrosis, a narrowing of the leg arteries. This restricts blood flow, resulting in a large loss of power in the leg during maximum exercise.
Manzin, currently 29, will now begin his recovery process, hoping to return to training as soon as possible. "The operation went well. It is an injury that often occurs among cyclists. I will now start my rehabilitation period of several weeks. This will be followed by a gradual return to sport."
