Lorena Wiebes wins first stage of Simac Ladies Tour

Lorena Wiebes has won the first stage of the Simac Ladies Tour. She was fastest amongst her rival in sprint and crossed the finish line first to secure the victory.

The peloton rode together for 20 kilometers before we got to see the first attempt of the breakaway. The breakaway included Mischa Bredewold, Alison Jackson, Soraya Paladin, Charlotte Kool, Franziska Koch, Lorena Wiebes, Eugénie Duval, Chloe Hosking, Lauretta Hanson, Audrey Cordon-Ragot, Elynor Bäckstedt and Chantal van den Broek. The group worked together to create a gap of 1 minute and 15 seconds.

Eight kilometers before the finish line first group was leading by 40 seconds over the peloton. Lorena Wiebes won the final sprint and took the stage victory. Karlijn Swinkels finished second. Audrey Cordon-Ragot took the bronze.
