Stage 2 of UAE Ladies Tour was marked by a strong presence of crosswinds that shattered the peloton along the early and mid-moments of the stage. In the end the riders a bunch sprint happened with Lorena Wiebes of Team SD Worx taking the victory ahead of her former teammate Charlotte Kool.
On the early moments of the race the peloton was divided into 3 groups. In the first one Elisa Longo Borghini (Trek-Segafredo), Silvia Persico (Team UAE ADQ), Lorena Wiebes (Team SD Worx), Charlotte Kool (Team DSM), Emma Norsgaard (Movistar Team) and Chiara Consonni (Team UAE ADQ), among others were present.
The second group (that had Lianne Lippert of Movistar Team) managed to catch the first one around 40 kms to the end. With this they slowed down and that made possible the possible reentrance at around 20 kms to the finish of the third group who had Marta Cavalli (FDJ-Suez) and Kristen Faulkner (Team Jayco AiUla). Who were at a time 5 minutes behind them. Only for in the last 10 km another echelon happen and Cavalli losing time.
All ended in a bunch sprint with Lorena Wiebes (Team SD Worx) taking the first place, Charlotte Kool (Team DSM) second and Kool lead out rider Pfeiffer Georgi (Team DSM) third.
