Julius Johansen still searches for 2024 contract: "Just finished decorating, now I don't know if I'll have to sell because I can't afford to live there"

Julius Johansen does not have many days left as a professional cyclist if he does not get an appointment soon. He reveals this to Feltet.dk. The Dane has been part of the Belgian team Intermarché-Circus-Wanty for two seasons now, but the team has had difficulty raising capital, and this has affected rider Johansen, who now faces an uncertain future.

"I haven't signed anything," says Johansen honestly. "I think there is a good dialogue. There is not much new. My agent has been talking to them here for the last few days, but I haven't heard the latest."

"I have just moved to Spain and have been really happy about it. I have settled in really well and have lived there for a year now. Just finished decorating, now I don't know if I'll have to sell because I can't afford to live there," Johansen reveals. "So of course I sleep in a super difficult situation, and I just hope that I can continue to be a cyclist in the way I dream of."

Without certain future, training hasn't been easy. "Yes, it has been difficult. It has been a bit of a short-term plan. I haven't had a coach, I haven't been able to make a long-term plan," he explains, referring to the fact that he has had to keep his form going after the end of the road season.
