Jasper Philipsen's dominance at the 2023
Tour de France earned him the title of best sprinter in the professional peloton. This year, he has found new challengers in Tim Merlier and Jonathan Milan, but also in Biniam Girmay who has beaten him on three occasions at this year's Tour and won the green jersey classification on top.
2025 Tour de France starts with a sprint stage and Philipsen can't be eyeing for anything less than the first yellow jersey which awaits the fastest man in Lille. In case he were to succeed, he might have to hand over the jersey to his teammate the very next day as the uphill finish in Boulogne-sur-Mer could change Mathieu van der Poel's mind to participate at the Tour again, even though he
hinted against it recently.
