"It was nothing serious" - Egan Bernal brushes off stage 1 crash and keen to impress on summit finish at Volta a Catalunya

Egan Bernal, leader of INEOS Grenadiers in the Volta a Catalunya 2024, has made it clear that he feels fine despite the fall he suffered on the climb of the last km of the first stage of the race: "Nothing, it was nothing serious really";

On the climb to Vallter 2000, which will surely decide the second stage of the Catalan race, the Colombian rider makes it clear that although he knows the climb perfectly, it will not give him any kind of advantage, since it is a climb where the important thing is the strength to finish with more or less advantage over the rivals:

"We have to try to climb as fast as possible, it's going to be a climb with legs, a climb with legs and one that I know quite a bit about, but in the end on a climb like this the important thing is to have legs and that's it."
