"I'm going to keep that rider's name to myself for a while" - Patrick Lefevere confirms Soudal - Quick-Step has returned to signing new riders

Soudal - Quick-Step signed Mikel Landa into 2024 and then a group of youngsters who the Belgian team hope to climb up the ranks over the coming years. Several spots remain to be filled, however Patrick Lefevere tells that the team has already confirmed an unannounced rider.
“It had escaped my notice that all the managers who were already pushing me in December last year could see on a certain site that we were still short of a rider. I have been bombarded with requests in recent weeks," Lefevere told Sporza.
The Belgian team hit the market quickly upon the transfer season beginning, with the signing of Mikel Landa in order to better support Remco Evenepoel in the mountains. Four riders from it's development team headline the remaining moves. The possible merger between the Belgian team and Jumbo-Visma briefly put a pause into possible deals however there has since been a return to normality.
“The 27th spot has been filled since this weekend. I'm going to keep that rider's name to myself for a while, because I don't know if the boy has already communicated it to his team this year," Lefevere shares. "In any case, he was at the end of his contract with that team.”
