Jasper Philipsen is one of the three leaders of the Belgian selection for the World Chamiponships on Sunday. The Alpecin-Deceuninck sprinter has a clear role: waiting for the sprint.
"If I want to become world champion, it will have to happen in a sprint," the winner of the green jersey in the Tour de France was immediately clear.
"There is a good chance that there will be a sprint for the world title. But how large that group will be is difficult to estimate. Wout and Remco are there to be in the middle of the action. I hope for good legs to keep the option to sprint open," Philipsen explains to Het Laatste Nieuws.

Philipsen also had something to say about the much-discussed course in Glasgow: "I like to twist and turn. I can also position myself well, so the course doesn't scare me off."
