5:21 down on overall leader Jonas Vingegaard however, it's more likely that Rodriguez will be fighting for the third spot on the podium. 19 seconds ahead of
Adam Yates and 1:17 ahead of
Jai Hindley, the Spaniard is in a positive position as the race enters what is sure to be a highly dramatic final week.
"So far it seemed that Hindley would go for third place, but he is now suddenly fifth. I could also be tenth tomorrow. You never know, I can't do more than my best. In any case, I'm looking forward to the ride over the Col de la Loze, that's a climb that should suit me," says Rodriguez. "In any case, I don't feel any pressure. After a crash, the third week in last year's Vuelta didn't go so well, but that's not really a point of reference. I still feel good about myself."
