  It is still a big improvement to be able to compete for a result for Almeida. On stage 12 (I think) he showed his first indication of returning to form by setting a good pace in the breakaway, but, finishing 48th, he didn't get a result. 10th place is a significant improvement. If he carries on at this rate we could see him triumph at the end

  My bad. I read it as 8 seasons till 2032. It is quite fascinating how when you read something wrong the first time you read it wrong again the next time and it takes someone to point it out for you.

  Roglič is still the main rival. He can take 2+ min on Mas if Mas has a bad day, and you never know what happens in the final two days

  Their plan B was for a slightly sick or injured Tadej. This was plan F, the unthinkable. A case study in a team falling apart without their leader. Almeida was not that far behind the winner today, in tenth, but seemed stuck in mud. I feel for them, though. With Movistar, it's the exact opposite.

  One more thing before I leave this site... At first I was shocked, but now my disappointment isn’t that big. In fact, it’s a blessing in disguise that Pogi wasn’t injured even more seriously. The surgery was successful, Tadej is positive, and he’ll come back even stronger next year... 100%. No cyclist is as mentally strong as Pogi. Tadej knows exactly why he is the best cyclist in the world, how he got there, and what he needs to do to become even better. Tadej is regarded as the GOAT because, through his racing style, mindset, and results, he embodies everything that existed during cycling’s golden era, while at the same time pushing the boundaries of modern sport. He isn’t just a specialist in one area; he is the most versatile and dominant cyclist of the modern era. So eat your hearts out, Pogi haters. Capish? Adios... Arrivederci... and goodbye!!!
