On the Monte Grappa, the crowds came out in their numbers to support the riders, something that was noticed by the
UAE Team Emirates leader. "I cannot describe the feeling of the fans on the climb. It was amazing," Pogacar beams. "Today was just another test before summer and I just wanted to finish the Giro with a good mentality, good shape and I think I achieved that."
"I will enjoy after the Giro and then focus on a good preparation," he continues, eyeing up the second leg of his Grand Tour double at the Tour de France, although it's unlikely he'll be able to match his margin of around 10 minutes in the general classification there.
Before the Tour, one stage remains at the 2024 Giro d'Italia. Having already shown himself at the front on sprint stages earlier in the race, will Pogacar get involved in the leadout for Juan Sebastian Molano again in Rome? "I've never been in Rome before but I'm going to enjoy it. I hope it stays dry and let's see, maybe we can go with Molano for the finish," he concludes. "The main thing is just to get it over with and I hope I can go home soon."
