"I think Stirling could have delivered a much nicer course" - Dutch national coach is not completely satisfied with the route of time trials

Barely two days after the great world title of Mathieu van der Poel, Koos Moerenhout was already back in coaching action along the mixed-time trial course in Glasgow. The Dutch coach talked about the race with In de Leiderstrui.

"Sunday you had an incredible day, but you still had to find a solution because Mick is absent. There is a challenge in front of you and you solve it, but making that link is difficult. Tim did a great job, that was a very good intervention from him."

Moerenhout had to deal with lots of rider refusing to take part in the mixed time trial, however the coach doesn't want to comment on the topic much. "That is easy. Those who participate all came back positive," said the national coach, who did indicate that there are growing pains in the part.

"You can of course discuss the course here, whether it is suitable for a time trial where it is about seconds and you still have to take risks. It is not ideal, Stirling could have delivered a much nicer course in that respect. However, it is what it is."
