He says he felt tired after a grueling Tour de France, but with a 10th place in the Clasica San Sebastian, Tiesj Benoot proved that his legs are still on point.
Tiesj Benoot put his nose to the window in the pursuit of Remco Evenepoel and eventually finished 10th in the large group of those beaten. "I had a good day, but it wasn't great," the Belgian analyzed his race for Sporza. "And I also rode into the wall during that counterattack with Felix Gall."
Benoot felt tired less than a week after the Tour, but is counting on good legs next Sunday in Glasgow. "I'm not going to get better now. I think it's now a week of rest until the World Cup to let the super compensation do its job. All the work has been done."
"And I think our leader (Remco Evenepoel) is ready. Just like the other two," Benoot expresses his trust in Belgian team leaders, Evenepoel, Wout Van Aert and Jasper Philipsen.
