Jasper Philipsen continues to take victories in 2023. The Alpecin-Deceuninck sprinter made it 19 for the season with his fourth stage win of the 2023 Tour of Turkey on stage 8.
“It was still a very difficult final phase. It's a good thing we explored the course. All riders within the team knew what they had to do. My teammates also rode great and we were well ahead in the final," recapped Philipsen in his post-stage interview. "After that it was important to stay out of trouble and then do my sprint.”

Taking the win ahead of Cees Bol and Giovanni Lonardi, Philipsen extended his lead in the battle for most race wins in this calendar year, continuing to prove himself as the dominant sprinter in the peloton.
“I like these kind of quite difficult finals. You are then already at your limit for the actual sprint. I still have good form and wanted to show it again. It's always nice to end it like this," he concludes. “The aim was to win stages. We are here with a good team and we can look back on a successful Tour of Turkey, but also on a successful season.”
