After lesser spring, it seems as though Dylan Groenewegen's level has gradually improved with view to the Tour de France. And Jayco-AlUla is celebrating. After four months without victories, the Dutch sprinter has now won two races in a row.
First it was at the last Tour de Hongrie, when he won stage 4. Now, on the opening day of the Tour of Slovenia 2025, Groenewegen took the win on Wednesday after a spectacular sprint.
"Considering the finish, with a straight and wide road leading into the last two corners, everyone knew that position would be critical. We fought a bit with UAE and then Max Walscheid took the corner perfectly and I found myself between the two UAE riders. At that moment I was on the wheel and I was only thinking about doing my sprint, which fortunately was enough to win," said the Jayco rider after his victory.

"Today I didn't have my best day on the bike, as in the last three days I didn't feel very well, but today I recovered well and I think in the next days it will go better and better. No doubt today was also influenced by the heat, in the Netherlands it was 20 degrees, today maybe 35, and that made everything much more difficult, also because it was my first day in the heat," he added.
"In any case, we did an almost perfect job today and I'm very happy with how we worked as a team and that we got the win," concluded Dylan Groenewegen.
