"He is not a servant and he only thinks about himself" - Questions arise over Aleksandr Vlasov's BORA - hansgrohe future following Primoz Roglic's arrival

Primoz Roglic's departure from Jumbo-Visma sent shockwaves throughout the cycling world. Equally, his arrival at BORA - hansgrohe could now set off a domino effect, starting with the departure of Aleksandr Vlasov.

Casting an eye towards next year's Tour de France, Belgian commentator Jeroen Vanbelleghem explained to Eurosport why Vlasov's BORA - hansgrohe future could be in doubt. "You logically have Primoz Roglic as the leader and then seven more riders," he begins. "Nico Denz is super strong and you always have to take him with you for positioning on the flat. The same goes for Bob Jungels. He is not for the mountains, but otherwise perfect. I also think Matteo Sobrero is a nice rider and someone who is handy. He is good on the flat and is a good time trialist. He is also someone who can keep a strong pace in the medium mountains."

"Buchmann has evolved into a master servant and I had doubts about Kämna because he is a loner," Vanbelleghem continues. Then I thought back to the Giro that Hindley won, where Kämna eventually managed to beat Carapaz with his pace. Dani Martinez was a super servant for Bernal. Martinez is not a leader, but as a master servant without pressure he can do it."

Among this however, where does Vlasov fit in? "Then you still have a position and then I hesitate between two men, but actually there is no doubt. We are not going to do Alexander Vlasov. He is not a servant and he only thinks about himself. I've seen that enough," Vanbelleghem says critically. "Vlasov is not going to lead Roglic, while Hindley is a bit more nonchalant."
