Giro d'Italia | Team Jayco AlUla seeks wins from Michael Matthews, Eddie Dunbar possible GC contender

Team Jayco AlUla has geared up towards the Giro d'Italia and has revealed it's lineup this morning. Michael Matthews will be the leader of the team and seek stage wins in many of the hilly days the Giro has to offer.

The Australian is just off the back of a 14th place at Eschborn-Frankfurt, a disappointing result where he couldn't keep up with the best climbers, in a race that actually favoured him with the attacks which Jayco controlled. Matthews has won stages here back in 2014 and 2015 and will hope to bring one more to his palmarès, as well as being a contender for the points classification.

Michael Hepburn and Lukas Postleberger will be the key parts of a modest leadout, whilst Campbell Stewart and Callum Scotson are to be important riders in the hilly days where the team will likely look to put other sprinters into difficulty. Alessandro De Marchi and Italian national champion Filippo Zana will also do some work surely, but mainly focus on stage wins in those transition days.

Eddie Dunbar completes the lineup, Jayco had hinted at his leadership at the Giro for several months which means the overall classification may be on his mind, however the Irishman could also prove to be a stage hunter in the mountains.

Team Jayco AlUla for Giro d'Italia:

Alessandro De Marchi, Filippo Zana, Michael Matthews, Campbell Stewart, Eddie Dunbar, Lukas Postleberger, Callum Scotson and Michael Hepburn.
