- The little guy just cocks his head, and totally mashes!
- Actually a pathetic analysis, he contradicts and swerves around every argument. First he advised against, then he criticised, then he wonders if the strategy is different to what he’s reading into it. He also ignores half the possibilities of what Jonas might be thinking, preparing, playing, it’s basically just guesswork out of frustration.
- Says an expert after the first least favourable week?
And if it was just more mind games they’re trading, doesn’t it sound a bit silly to be criticising a strategy before you’re sure you understand it or can see the results.
Nobody was tipping on Healy in yellow yesterday. Maybe it’s time to enhance the discussion and stop focusing on microplays between two riders who’ve been overanalysed?
- When Jonas had just come from zero racing experience. Look, there are so many factors at play and their preparations have been very different, each’ season is evolving in its own way and either can be improving, stable or declining. There is absolutely no point in pointing out any single factor as proof of performance, like trying to predict stock market performance or weather looking at just one variable. Nobody here would get a job making odds at bookies.
- C’mon, it’s quotation marks, you copy paste and goog it :-) But, it’s only one source, always best to search more seriously when really interested. There are even scientific papers relating height to VO2 max and generally it says the opposite, taller=higher value but they are actually pretty inconclusive because too many other factors play a bigger role, especially when the difference in height is small.
- Ever heard of wearing something down? Ever watched a whole movie before the end? If people would crack immediately during interrogation we’d all be able to save ourselves a lot of time and energy. They may have to keep at it another week or more but it only takes one crack in the mountains as we’ve seen before.
- Kind of unfair and biased, most agree Jonas is showing a form of strength he didn’t have before, doing well in stages and situations not previously suited to him? Why do people feel they need to give him stick for speaking about his feeling when that’s basically all we ever ask or expect from pre/post race interviews because there’s little else to discuss?
You don’t like the guy but you’re egging him on to beat Tadej in what is defined as a team sport. If it’s not a team sport but you want to match up two individuals, then let them both do the Tour completely alone as time trials and we’ll see who is best. I’m pretty sure Tadej doesn’t ride half as well if he doesn’t have someone to chase or attack.
- Hallelujah, someone has said it! "I'm insanely strong" etc etc but the only thing Jonas does is try to follow the wheel of Tadej when he attacks and always turning his head looking back like where are my rescuers?! Grow some balls, Jonas, then we will see who is the strongest!
- Who thought Visma would be this much stronger than UAE?
- Well Tadej had no trouble winning stage 7 of the Dauphine last month with 3 HC climbs, basically a carbon copy of stage 18's profile so...
