- is it a reflex that pogi fanboys to defame commentators whenever they say/write something that is not pure praise of their messiah? zonneveld may voice populistic opinions from time to time, but in this one he stated a perfectly reasonable hypothesis. why disrespect him with personal comments that add nothing to the conversation?
- Oooh dear
- Multiplying by 20/9 doesn't really seem like much but whole numbers are much nicer than decimals. With percentages giving it to 1 d.p is more than enough but that would be quite inaccurate for degrees.
- Loving the comments re GOAT. I think he is using the race just to fine tune himself and some of his team mates. Again it seems all the big hitters are sitting on the side lines waiting for the TDF and getting worried with the ease Pog is simply riding away on the climbs. He appears to have no stress compared to the efforts of other riders. I hope is partner is recovering well from her crash and surgery goes well.
- somehow their logic is that a large computer, which is actually EASIER to read is a distraction so they won't see the bump.
and don't forget the long socks that could have caused this crash too.
- not only do I have medical training from the military, I am pretty good with statistics. if you model this out across the peloton, it is more than extremely rare.
statistically speaking, out of 100 significant wounds, about 5 to 10 would be infected. 1 of those would get a deep infection. And the chance of surgery needed, like PFP and WVA is less than 1/100.
now model that out across the same team in back-to-back years, and it is unbelievably rare.
in research, there has been exactly one other rider in the last 10 plus years that had something similar happen - crash and needed surgery due to infection. Cristian Camilo Muñoz (2026) — Suffered a knee injury in a crash at the Tour du Jura. And sadly he died.
so, tell me, from a medical and statistical standpoint why you made your comment? what exactly is your training here?
and tell me, how many riders you are aware of that had severe abrasion and needed surgery to get rid of an infection???
it is statistically VERY VERY odd that 2 riders from the same team, 2 different years, had such a bad infection from road rash that they needed surgery. We're talking less that 0.5%
- Not sure why people blame Pogi (or any dominant sports figure) for making a sport “boring”. Maybe blame the other 100+ riders in the peloton for not chasing Pogi?
- Yep, only a few degrees off infinity. Never understood the need for percentages in slopes, especially as for roads it’s hardly different from degrees.
- C’mon man, you have to train a while to get to Mou’s level
- Hmmm, the results don’t reflect the narrative.
Firstly, it makes it sound like Pog was 4th and secondly, no way it would be 30m if he is at least 4s behind which is what’s attributed to the guy in 6th.
