Drone Hopper - Androni Giocattoli have confirmed their lineup for the upcoming Giro d'Italia, in which they will be chasing stage wins, aswell as secondary classifications. The Italian team brings in a diverse squad which allows them to dream big over the course of the month.
Eduardo Sepúlveda comes in with great form into the race, after winning the queen stage of the Tour of Turkey just a few weeks ago. The Argentinian has long experience in the World Tour peloton and will be racing his fourth Giro - likely with the ambition of taking a stage win in the mountains, possibly the KOM jersey. Jefferson Alexander Cepeda has been far from consistent, but the Ecuadorian has finished the Giro di Sicilia in second place last month and should also be a wildcard for the mountainous stages that will come aplenty.
On the other side of the spectrum, young Eritrean Natnael Tesfatsion. The 22-year old has been a standout puncheur this season, racking up consistent results throughout the whole spring, and taking the overall classification of the Tour of Rwanda. The hilly stages will see him as a contender.
With points and intermediate sprint classifications available, aswell as wide TV exposure and trips to the podium, the teal will be eyeing daily breakaways to make sure they profit from their lack of responsability in the peloton. Mattia Bais, Andrii Ponomar, Simone Ravanelli and Edoardo Zardini should be up for the task, whilst Filippo Tagliani will be eyeing his chances in the bunch sprints.
